Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 5th Serbian Biomarker Symposium-SERBIS 2019, taking place 26-28 March 2019, in Belgrade, Serbia. The SERBIS 2019 with the overall theme “Nutrition Biomarkers for Disease Prevention” is intended to display the current state of knowledge about nutrition biomarkers that are needed to support evidence-based clinical guidance and effective health programs and policies related to food, nutrition and health.
Following the previous four successful international symposiums, this symposium will be arranged to bridge clinical and laboratory work, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and interactions between professionals of various disciplines. SERBIS2019 will bring together international experts who will present new frontiers in application of nutrition biomarkers, challenges and unanswered questions, and catalyze future research directions toward the common goal of implementing nutritional biomarkers in a broad, cost-effective, and meaningful way.
Three days programme will cover following topics: optimal nutrition and health, macronutrients and reduction of risk of complications of diabetes/cardiovascular disease, macronutrients and health for the aged, biomarkers of nutritional exposure and risk of cancer (breast, pancreatic, prostate), vitamins/macrominerals/microminerals clinical requirements and clinical laboratory testing, nutrigenomics and obesity.
We are convinced that the programme of SERBIS 2019 will allow the participants (physicians, clinical chemists, pharmacists, dietitians, nutritionists, scientists and nurses involved in the field of nutrition and metabolism) to reinforce old and stimulate new collaborations and friendships, foster communication between speakers and delegates and discuss new insights gained.
We hope that you will have a useful and fun filled time in Belgrade at this special SERBIS 2019.
We look forward to welcoming you all for what promises to be an outstanding event.
